CCI France Vietnam × CNCPI: A Partnership Supporting Franco-Vietnamese Innovation

On June 22, our Vice President, Dr. Rémi Nguyen, met with the CNCPI (Compagnie Nationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle), the official body representing all Industrial Property Attorneys in France. These professionals assist companies and innovators in protecting their trademarks, patents, designs, and industrial models.

This meeting provided an opportunity to explore synergies between our two organizations in support of the Franco-Vietnamese business community.

On the CCIFV side, we presented our initiatives in the tech sector, including participation in VivaTech in Paris, the organization of the French Tech Summit in Vietnam, and the promotion of Adopt AI in the local market. A natural exchange of information could be established with the CNCPI to identify French tech companies expanding their presence in Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese businesses seeking intellectual property protection in Europe.

Why is France a leading intellectual property hub in Europe?

- The INPI, one of the most active intellectual property offices in Europe

- Direct access to the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for EU trademark protection

- The CNCPI represents IP professionals before national, European (EPO, EUIPO), and international organizations (WIPO), providing a unique network of expertise and coverage

- A robust legal framework, aligned with European law and internationally recognized

- Regulated professionals held to standards comparable to those of lawyers, ensuring confidentiality and independence

On the Vietnam side, Dr. Rémi shared an overview of the country's political, economic, and legal environment. Intellectual property issues have become increasingly important for French investors in Vietnam, including counterfeiting, trademark registration, and the protection of know-how. The CNCPI could therefore play a valuable role in training and raising awareness among local stakeholders.

A promising collaboration to follow.
