Throwback to EU–Vietnam Matchmaking Event 2025 in Hanoi: Three Days of Collaboration, Innovation & Opportunity

From 4 to 6 November 2025, the EU–Vietnam Matchmaking Event brought together European and Vietnamese clusters, SMEs, and institutional representatives for three days of dialogue, discovery, and partnership building across Hanoi and Bac Ninh. Participants experienced first-hand how Vietnam’s industrial and innovation ecosystem is rapidly evolving, creating opportunities for cooperation under the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
Day 1 – Doing Business in Vietnam
The event opened in Hanoi with a full house, offering practical guidance for European clusters and SMEs engaging with Vietnam’s dynamic market.
🔹 Vietnam Today: Growth, Reform and Opportunity
- Dr. Rémi Nguyen (CCI France Vietnam) presented “Vietnam’s Economy and Policy Landscape”, outlining the Four Pillars strategy driving governance reform and private-sector growth.
- Mr. Federico Vasoli (ICHAM Vietnam) shared insights on macroeconomic trends, FDI, and international contracts.
- Ms. Nguyen Cam Van (EuroCham Vietnam) introduced EuroCham’s initiatives supporting European businesses.
- Mr. Benoît Tardy (EU-SEA IPR Helpdesk) discussed intellectual property protection and upcoming legal reforms, including Vietnam’s specialised IP courts.
The day concluded with 145 one-to-one meetings connecting 47 participants, fostering collaboration in advanced manufacturing, clean tech, digital industries, and logistics.
Day 2 – Industrial Insights & Site Visits in Bac Ninh
At the Vietnam Industrial & Manufacturing Fair (VIMF) in Bac Ninh, participants engaged with exhibitors, attended thematic sessions and explored Vietnam’s growing industrial landscape.
In the afternoon, participants embarked on two insightful site visits:
- VSIP Bac Ninh Industrial Park – A premier integrated industrial park in northern Vietnam, showcasing advanced manufacturing clusters and investment opportunities.
- Autotech Machinery JSC – A leading Vietnamese manufacturer of automation systems, industrial machinery, and smart‑factory solutions for sectors including electronics, automotive, food & beverage, and precision manufacturing.
Day 3 – Innovation, Technology & Research Collaboration
The final day spotlighted Vietnam’s innovation and technology frontier through a series of site visits in Hanoi:
- FPT Corporation – Vietnam’s largest technology and IT services company, where participants explored digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and semiconductor development
- Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC) – A hub under the Ministry of Finance supporting startups, facilitating technology transfer and positioning the country as a regional innovation destination.
- University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) – Showcasing research in advanced materials, ICT, nanotechnology, and semiconductors, highlighting EU–Vietnam collaboration in research and industry.
The three-day mission emphasized the potential for sustainable industrial partnerships, innovation-driven collaboration, and strengthened EU–Vietnam economic ties.
