[Members News] TotalEnergies ENEOS Takes a Major Step in Vietnam with its Largest Rooftop Solar Project
The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV) is pleased to share the recent announcement by TotalEnergies ENEOS, one of our valued members, regarding the launch of its largest rooftop solar project in Vietnam. This milestone marks a significant advancement in the deployment of renewable energy solutions in the country’s industrial sector.
On April 25, 2025, TotalEnergies ENEOS commenced the installation of a 28 megawatt-peak (MWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic system at Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex in Ho Chi Minh City. Comprising more than 45,000 solar modules, the system is expected to generate over 40,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of clean electricity annually—covering approximately 26% of the facility’s energy needs and reducing carbon emissions by over 26,000 tons per year.
Developed under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement, the project represents a strong partnership between a global technology leader and a renewable energy provider. It supports Vietnam’s sustainable development goals and aligns with Samsung’s commitment to the RE100 initiative, which promotes the use of 100% renewable electricity among corporations worldwide.
The launch ceremony was attended by Ms. Ingrid Jaumain, Zone Director for TotalEnergies Distributed Generation Asia Pacific, Mr. ChoonKi Kwon, President of Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex, and Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. During the event, TotalEnergies ENEOS received the Investment Registration Certificate (IRC)—a key milestone in the realization of this strategic project.
A Concrete Contribution to the Energy Transition
This project reflects the increasing involvement of CCIFV member companies in Vietnam’s energy transition. It also highlights the tangible opportunities for collaboration between French businesses and local partners in the pursuit of sustainable development.
The CCIFV is pleased to see one of its members, TotalEnergies, undertaking such a large-scale initiative in support of Vietnam’s renewable energy ambitions.
