PVI Insurance works with the World Bank to support more inclusive social insurance policies for platform workers in Vietnam.

PVI Insurance is working with the World Bank to share practical insights on expanding social insurance coverage for platform workers in Vietnam.

As ride-hailing, delivery and e-commerce platforms continue to grow, many workers remain outside traditional social security frameworks. Their fluctuating incomes make it difficult to maintain regular insurance contributions and secure long-term benefits.

Through its experience providing voluntary social and health insurance collection services, PVI Insurance has identified key barriers and developed initiatives to encourage participation, including financial support for first-time contributors during certain periods.

The World Bank has selected PVI Insurance as a partner for dialogue and consultation, drawing on the company’s field experience and operational data to inform policy recommendations to the Vietnamese government.

The discussions highlight the need for more flexible contribution mechanisms and targeted government support to help platform workers maintain their social protection.

By bridging the gap between market realities and policy development, PVI Insurance is contributing to efforts to build a more inclusive and sustainable social security system in Vietnam.
