Europe and Vietnam strengthen their digital cooperation

The digital revolution and emerging technologies are profoundly transforming economies and societies, offering new opportunities but also major challenges in terms of competitiveness and sovereignty. Aware that no country can tackle these issues alone, the European Union (EU) and Vietnam are multiplying initiatives to develop strategic cooperation in the digital field.

In June 2025, the EU unveiled its new International Digital Strategy, framed within the Global Gateway programme. This initiative aims to strengthen Europe’s technological competitiveness while supporting the digital transitions of partner countries. At the heart of this strategy is the “European Tech Business Offer”, an integrated platform that brings together expertise, investments and services to accelerate innovation and digital transformation.

Vietnam, which has set itself the goal of joining the top 30 digital nations by 2030, is focusing on artificial intelligence, semiconductors, 5G/6G, cloud services and cybersecurity to strengthen its ecosystem. Thanks to ambitious reforms and international partnerships, the country is now establishing itself as a dynamic player in the Asia-Pacific region.

A forum dedicated to digital innovation in Ho Chi Minh City

In this context, on 21 October 2025, the Mai House Saigon Hotel will host a multistakeholder forum organised by the D4D Hub, in cooperation with several Vietnamese and European technology organisations, including AVSE Global, the NDA, VINASA and EuroCham Vietnam.

Entitled “Scaling-up digital investments: Connecting the European Tech Business Offer with Vietnam’s digital future”, the event will bring together public decision-makers, private sector actors and finance experts to explore new avenues for collaboration.

Key themes on the agenda include:

  • Digital sovereignty in the age of cloud and AI,

  • Securing semiconductor supply chains,

  • Deployment of 5G, 6G and submarine infrastructure,

  • Digital public infrastructures and opportunities for the private sector,

  • Use of geospatial data for sustainable development,

  • Business digitalisation and the green transition.

A strategic meeting for digital ecosystems

This forum will serve as a platform for dialogue and partnership, offering greater visibility to European and Vietnamese stakeholders, while fostering the emergence of concrete projects in key digital sectors.
