[THROWBACK] Official visit of the President of the French Senate in Hanoi

December 8 and 9 were marked by the official visit of the President of the French Senate, Mr. Gérard Larcher, to Hanoi, at the invitation of the President of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Mr. Vương Đình Huệ.

Mr. Larcher was accompanied by Senator Mr. Christian Cambon, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces Committee, Senator Mrs. Catherine Deroche, President of the France-Vietnam Friendship Group and Chairwoman of the Social Affairs Committee, and Senator Mrs. Éliane Assassi, Chairwoman of the Communist, Republican, Citizen and Ecologist Group of the Senate, the CRCE.

This two-day visit began the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Franco-Vietnamese diplomatic relations, and was punctuated by high-level meetings, as well as a working lunch with the French business community. During this lunch, the CCIFV was represented by its President Thibaut Giroux, its Vice-Presidents Mr. Nicolas Bernardin and Mr. Philippe Perruchot and its Executive Director Mr. Adam Koulaksezian.

The President of the Senate and his delegation were also able to visit Line 3 of the Hanoi Metro, a project led by the Alstom-Colas-Thales consortium with the Vice President of the CCIFV and Director of Thales Vietnam, Mr. Nicolas Bernardin. Afterwards, the group took a guided tour of the Hoan Kiem Lake area, whose redevelopment project was led by the AREP Vietnam team represented by Ms. Melanie Doremus, also a CCIFV Director.

The CCIFV is delighted with the continuity of the links that exist between our two countries and the enhancement of the expertise of its network.
