We are looking for a seasoned Purchasing Manager to join a dynamic international manufacturing environment in Vietnam.

Business Context

The manufacturing Company in Vietnam operates in a structured industrial environment with a strong focus on quality, production continuity and cost competitiveness.

The Purchasing Manager plays a key role in managing day-to-day procurement activities while actively contributing to the development of a competitive and reliable supplier base, aligned with Group sourcing strategies.

Role Mission

Ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, components and services for the plant, guaranteeing production continuity, cost control and quality, while developing a robust supplier network through strategic sourcing and market scouting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational and Tactical Procurement

  • Manage the full purchasing cycle for the plant (raw materials, components, tooling, indirect goods and services)
  • Plan and monitor procurement activities in coordination with Production, Quality and Warehouse
  • Ensure on-time deliveries, optimal inventory levels and compliance with internal quality standards
  • Negotiate commercial terms (pricing, lead times, MOQs, Incoterms, payment terms)
  • Manage supplier performance, including non-conformities and corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies and procedures
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supplier performance

2. Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Development

  • Identify, qualify and develop new suppliers, both locally and internationally
  • Conduct market scouting to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing options
  • Support make-or-buy analysis, dual sourcing strategies and localization initiatives
  • Contribute to cost reduction and continuous improvement projects (cost breakdown, value analysis)
  • Collaborate with Group Purchasing to ensure alignment with global sourcing strategies

3. Leadership and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Industrialization, Production and Finance teams
  • Act as a key interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Purchasing / Procurement roles (Purching Manager or Senior Buyer)
  • Experience in structured industrial multinational environments
  • Strong advantage: plastics processing / injection molding industry
  • Experience in manufacturing plants and multinational companies

Technical Skills

  • Solid knowledge of industrial procurement processes
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proven experience in supplier development and qualification
  • Familiarity with purchasing KPIs and supplier performance management
  • Good understanding of supply chain flows

  • Vietnamese: Native
  • English: Business professional level
  • French is a plus
