Our client, an international group specializing in garment manufacturing, is seeking its next Plant Managing Director to lead its production facility located in Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam.

Salary: €3,500–€5,000 gross per month
The Plant Managing Director is responsible for the overall performance of the manufacturing site, with full P&L responsibility, and reports directly to the COO based at the company's headquarters in France. In the context of rapid growth (from 160 to approximately 350 employees over the next two years), the role is both operational and cross-functional. The Plant Managing Director oversees production, quality, costs, and compliance while ensuring accurate and timely reporting to headquarters. The successful candidate will also play a key role during the factory transition phase by implementing efficient processes and fostering effective communication across all functions.
Key Responsibilities
P&L & Financial Management
- Take full responsibility for the factory's profit and loss, including revenue, margins, and costs.
- Prepare, present, and defend the annual budget to the COO and headquarters.
- Analyze profitability by order and customer, adjusting pricing and negotiation strategies accordingly.
- Monitor and control production costs, including labor, raw materials, energy, waste, and subcontracting.
- Ensure structured monthly and quarterly financial reporting to the COO.
Operations & Production
- Oversee the entire production process to ensure on-time delivery (OTD).
- Optimize production line capacity according to the order backlog.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including efficiency, rejection rate, productivity, and cost per piece.
- Support the factory's expansion from over 160 employees to approximately 350 employees within two years.
- Ensure close collaboration with headquarters, particularly with the Supply Chain and Finance teams.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Manage relationships with third-party quality inspection agencies.
- Prepare for and support social compliance audits (BSCI, WRAP, SEDEX/SMETA; Higg Index is an advantage).
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and all applicable regulatory requirements.
Human Resources & Management
- Lead and manage department heads.
- Oversee employee relations, recruitment, and staff turnover.
- Foster a positive working environment in compliance with Vietnamese labor law and the company's values.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Provide regular reporting to the COO.
- Identify, assess, and escalate operational, social, and financial risks.
- Implement the Group's strategy at the local level.
- Contribute to the development of the local network and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 15 years of experience in garment manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role with full P&L responsibility.
- Proven experience managing garment manufacturing plants in Vietnam.
- Solid experience working with European and U.S. export customers.
- Previous experience in a multinational environment is highly valued.
- Strong expertise in garment manufacturing processes, costing, and social compliance standards.
- Strong leadership, autonomy, and excellent communication skills.
- Fluent French is mandatory.
- Good command of English is required.
- Vietnamese language skills are a strong advantage.
