Sofitel Saigon Plaza welcomes Michelin chef Maxime Lebrun

Ho Chi Minh City, January 2018 – As part of the hotel’s quarterly Michelin Star Chef showcase, Sofitel Saigon Plaza is pleased to welcome Michelin Chef Maxime Lebrun during 22 – 27 January 2018.

Sofitel Saigon Plaza is offering gourmet lovers a new dining experience with the appointment of Michelin Chef Maxime Lebrun at L’Olivier restaurant. From the height of French gastronomy, Chef Maxime will showcase his creative cuisine with elaborate dishes using luxury products.

From 22 – 27 January, Chef Maxime will take over L’Olivier Restaurant to showcase his world-renowned mastery of culinary arts through an impeccable fine dining lunch & dinner menu featuring meticulously composed dishes such as “Torched Blue cod, smoked salted foie gras, beets hazelnut pulp Perigueux sauce”, “Glazed sea bass, star anise carrot pulp, pickles and carrot foam”, Scallops snakees on chesnut risotto, truffle foam” and a variety of delectable desserts. On top of that, three special cooking classes led by Chef Maxime on 24 - 26 January are organized for participants looking to discover and experience the world of French gourmet cuisine in an exceptional way.

ABOUT MICHELIN CHEF MAXIME LEBRUN

Maxime Lebrun, Head Chef of the Michelin Star Restaurant “Le Grand Bleu” at Sarlat la Canéda in the heart of Perigord, France, which was described in the 2017 Michelin Guide as having “creative cuisine”.

Chef Maxime Lebrun graduated from Ecole Hôtelière du Périgord before moving to Paris. After a short stint at the iconic Tour d'Argent, Maxime Lebrun was "Chef de Partie Poissons" (Chef of the group responsible for fish preparation) at Le Grand Véfour, a two Michelin star restaurant. He then returned to his native Périgord region where he worked at a couple of local restaurants before settling at Le Grand Bleu, in 2006.

L’OLIVIER RESTAURANT is a traditional French restaurant named for its Mediterranean cuisine and well-known in the city for the Michelin star promotions every quarter. Seating 60 people, the restaurant boasts easy interior access for hotel guests.  Mediterranean-style décor, the restaurant emulates the ambiance of Southern Europe, using classic elements such as Ficus trees, veranda, beautiful tile flooring and textured providing down to earth and warm tones. Our creative culinary team creates surprising and amazing fusion dishes to twinkle the palette. L’ Olivier Restaurant opens from 11:30AM to 2:30PM (for lunch) and from 6:30PM to 10:30PM (for dinner)
