 At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Know how to best define, measure and manage 'doing good'
  • Learn to identify, justify and measure the most appropriate social and economic impact measures for projects and organisations
  • Understand that a robust set of impact metrics derives from a sound Impact Statement and Theory of Change, as well as from meaningful direct and proxy indicators

Corporate sustainability decision makers, impact investors and/or grant-makers looking to understand their impact goals and how to evaluate the metrics presented by the organisations they support.

 

The agenda for this interactive workshop will include:

- Drafting Impact Statements and Indicators
- Exploring theories of change
- Hearing inspirational examples of analysing impact
- Measuring social and economic impact in approaches such as gender-lens investing
- Introducing IRIS+, the Impact Measurement Project and SoPact
- Discussion on why academics hate the indicator approach
