Yearly CSR meeting "NGO-Business" : a matchmaking event for corporates and nonprofit organizations

Last Tuesday, January 23rd 2018, CCIFV and France Volontaires have held for the third time the Yearly CSR meeting NGO-Business. This special evening was hosted by SOHY, and supported by Aviva Vietnam, a leading Insurance company giving access to funding to NGOs through their CSR campaign.

The purpose of this Speed Meeting night was to bring together companies and NGO representatives and invite them to share ideas and look for opportunities to build partnerships.

Participants got the chance to meet a wide range of other organizations, according to the needs and resources they identified and which of the 17 sustainable development goals they wanted to reach. The venue had been split into 3 main groups of interest, according to the wishes participants expressed in advance: Group 1 for issues related to Children and Poverty, Group 2 for issues related to Education and Training and group 3 for issues related to Environment and Culture.

To sum-up, what happened?

54 participants attended

26 of them were from 18 NGOs

28  of them were from 17 companies

Around 100 speed meetings have been facilitated

On average participants met 2 potential partners during the event

The original goal of the evening was to facilitate 30 x 6 speed meetings during 6 rounds of 10 minutes. One can imagine matches have happened since some participants didn’t want to get separated between the rounds. Yet that was the rule. 10 minutes to pitch is enough to identify the other party interests and exchange contacts to keep a conversation going through an upcoming and more formal meeting.

CCIFV and France Volontaire hope that this evening has initiated some fruitful meetings and give rise to concrete and meaningful collaborations.

To start 2018 off right, this event aimed to generate match making between NGOS and Businesses. For those who couldn’t attend, or are eager to spend more time exploring inspiring projects, CCIFV and France Volontaires are developing a brand new tool: CCIFV Social Responsibility Platform. This online network connects organizations willing to take part of sustainable and participative projects in Vietnam.
