Sofitel Saigon Plaza announces New Executive Chef Appointment

Sofitel Saigon Plaza is pleased to announce the appointment of Stéphane Postoyan as the hotel’s Executive Chef. The hotel believes that Chef Stéphane will add a new dimension to the hotel cuisine and bring his dynamic, innovative energy to the dining experience at this luxury hotel.

Originally developed a strong foundation in banquet and catering from Lyon, France, Chef Stéphane brings almost two decades of experience in world-class kitchens gained from USA and New Zealand to Vietnam.  Prior to joining the team at Sofitel Saigon Plaza, Chef Stéphane served as the Executive Chef at Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa in New Zealand.

In his new role, Chef Stéphane will oversee the hotel’s two dining venues, including L’Olivier, the hotel’s signature French restaurant and Mezz interactive buffet restaurant as well as the Boudoir Lounge and Gourmand Shop known for its amazing sweet treats. Chef Stéphane also manages the hotel’s in-room dining and banquets, catering events ranging in size from small meeting to large weddings of 300 people.

Stéphane Postoyan was born in the village of Bourgoin-Jallieu, in France, nearby the French gastronomic metropolis Lyon. He started his career in Lyon, and was mentored by Monsieur Morel, a friend of many renowned Michelin starred chefs of the Lyon area as Guy Savoy, Troigros, Bernard Loiseau, Paul Bocuse and Joel Robuchon. Chef Stéphane moved to US and started his career in Chicago with Ritz-Carlton Hotel. With almost 10 years in Chicago, he once ran his own business “Stephane, your personal French Chef” for 2 years then joined the Sofitel Water Tower Chicago as Chef for 6 years. With his recent role at the Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa, he has been working for AccorHotels for 8 years by now.

L’Olivier is a traditional French restaurant named for its Mediterranean cuisine and well-known in the city for the Michelin star promotions every quarter. The restaurant pastry team are among the top in the city.  Seating 60 people, the restaurant boasts easy interior access for hotel guests. Mediterranean-style décor, the restaurant emulates the ambiance of Southern Europe, using classic elements such as Ficus trees, veranda, beautiful tile flooring and textured providing down to earth and warm tones.
