At the end of December 2016, Bachy Soletanche Vietnam began diaphragm walls, mass piling and kingpost works for the Lancaster Lincoln premium project in Ho Chi Minh City.
A trading centre, offices, and apartments: Lancaster Lincoln is a new and high-end condominium project located on Nguyen Tat Thanh street, in the up-and-coming District 4, five minutes from the Central Business District (CBD), Phu My Hung and Thu Thiem. It will comprise two 40-storey residential towers, and one 8-storey commercial office tower, with architecture inspired by the Art Deco style.
Bachy Soletanche Vietnam’s involvement consists of:
This is the first time Bachy Soletanche Vietnam has applied the shaft-grouted bored piles technique for large diameter bored piles. The site is located near the Saigon river, with a high groundwater level and weak silty soil in the top 12m. Therefore, care must be taken to make sure the bentonite slurry level is maintained and monitored during construction. Other challenges include the site’s narrowness and traffic control constraints. The team is working on a main crossroads connecting the suburb to Ho Chi Minh City’s CBD. Diaphragm wall will be constructed just 0.5m away from existing housing. Therefore, Bachy Soletanche Vietnam must divide the diaphragm wall into small panels and will erect some protective steel frames along the adjacent houses.
After the Lancaster HCMC Service Apartment and Office Building, a benchmark for refined quality in 2004, and the Lancaster Hanoi situated in the heart of the diplomatic area of Hanoi in 2013, Trung Thuy Group (now called TTG Holding) developed the Lancaster Lincoln project in Ho Chi Minh City. Bachy Soletanche Vietnam and TTG Holding are working together for the first time. The construction programme is scheduled for completion in 110 days, with the towers due to come into operation during 2019.
