Job Description: 

To perform the role of General Practitioner by providing primary and emergency medical care to patients and clients attending the  Health Service, through the development of quality focused general practice and evidence based practice. To provide leadership and support to the medial team working at  Health Service and to interact the  campus community.

Patient Care:

  • Undertake clinical consultations and provide a high standard of service and care to patients attending the  Health Service.
  • Develop clinical practice orientated to the campus staff & Students that offers a continuity of care and appropriate follow-up and referral to the HCM Clinic.
  • Assist with the implementation of preventative care strategies, including structuring and performing medical screening services.
  • Manage the delivery of competent and professional health services according to our standards.
  • Assist with ensuring appropriate patient triage and flow within the clinic.
  • Notification of assistance cases and transfers from the  Health Service
  • Be aware of any  clients who require ongoing follow up after admission to the clinic
  • Act as a medical escort when required for appropriate medical evacuations.
  • Educate medical and non-medical staff in medical matters, where relevant.

Quality Assurance: 

  • Work with the Clinics & Operations Manager to optimize quality assurance and ensure that appropriate medical outcomes are consistently attained with respect to the provision of clinic services.
  • Review the monthly Inventory & Quality report for the  Health Service
  • Monitor Inventory orders
  • Review Pharmacy levels and stock control
  • Ensure that patient medical files and documentation are maintained to the highest standards and in accordance with our standards for clinic services.
  • Assist in the maintenance, selection and control of the medical equipment and supplies available in the clinic, when required.
  • Report any maintenance issues
  • Work within and promote all policies, procedures and corporate values.
  • Be aware of OH&S policies, practices and procedures and actively participate in the on-going development and enhancement of these important areas of business.
  • Assist in the preparation & presentation of reports 

Promotion of our Services: 

  • Work with members of the Senior Management Team on initiatives to enhance the clinic profile and activity.
  • Participate actively in appropriate social and professional activities 
  • Present important health topics to interested campus community groups.
  • Assist the local Sales and Marketing Department in explaining our medical services to prospective and existing clients.

Job Requirements:

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Work effectively with non-medical staff.

Required Work Experience:

  • Medical doctor with over 5 years post graduation experience gained within general practice and emergency medicine.
  • Sound knowledge of the principles of general practice management and administration.
  • Familiarity with ACLS, PALS, ATLS or similar protocols, essential.
  • Post graduation experience in Women’s Health Issues, Gynaecology would be an advantage.
  • Varied international medical and/or health care system experience, an advantage.
  • Experience in Assistance and Remote Area Medicine, an advantage.

Required Qualifications: Full registration and license to practice medicine in country of origin

Required Languages: 

  • English: oral and written
  • National language in country of posting (when required)

Travel / Rotation Requirements:

  • The position is 3.5 days per week
  • Support for  fixtures on the weekends will be required adhoc
  • Support for internal campus functions and health talks will be required with some flexibility
  • No medical support is required on Public Holidays
