How to successfully arbitrate in Singapore? Tips and traps. In this workshop you will learn how to draft an arbitration clause that works and tips on arbitrating in Singapore. We will also examine some of the problems that can arise. Topics will include:
· - Why choose Singapore as the seat of an arbitration procedure?
· - How to draft a valid arbitration clause?
· - What are the special features of the main arbitral institutions: SIAC vs ICC?
· - How to choose between SIAC, ICC and UNCITRAL Rules?
· - How can an arbitral award be enforced?
Amanda Lees is a partner in the Dispute Resolution group in our Singapore office and specialises in cross border dispute resolution through international arbitration and complex multi-forum litigation. She has experience acting in international arbitrations in Asia, Europe and Australia and related stay, anti-suit and anti-arbitration applications. Amanda sits regularly as an arbitrator and has multiple appointments under the SIAC, ICC and LCIA Rules. She is listed in Best Lawyers for international arbitration and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
